Government Contract Bid Manager - Washington, DC - Job code JS16D02


Our client is currently seeking a Government Contract/Bid Manager to provide support for Federal Contracts and Acquisition Management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support federal customers the Sales team with analyzing current acquisition processes, recommending opportunities for streamlining and enhancing acquisition processes, and developing and implementing solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with client stakeholders
  • Conduct analysis on problems independently, research and recommend solutions, and execute resolution steps to address client issues
  • Work with Federal Government team around selling strategies as they align with Federal objectives.
  • Provide functional support for creating and maintaining Federal Government Contracts.
  • Provide functional support for new initiative implementation activities, new products or services.
  • Provide support for the operations team related to federal government mandated initiative
  • Coordinate efforts for the attainment of sales revenue objectives for an assigned account base, contributing to the company’s bottom line.
  • Negotiate contract terms
  • Develop pricing strategies
  • Lead the development of business plans, sales strategies and action plans for Government customer that are clearly defined by objectives, goals, win strategies, schedules, and action assignments.
  • Maintains rapport with key Government Procurement leaders
  • Establish new relationships across the entire account base.
  • Drive the strategic direction and growth of the company by providing support to sales team.
  • Collaborate on overall tactical and strategic plans.

Ability to travel 25%


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of Government Contracts / Acquisition experience
  • 4+ years of experience conducting a wide range of acquisition lifecycle activities, including: any of the following acquisition planning, contract awarding and closeout activities, source selection, firm fixed-price contracts, bid writing


  • Ability to maintain and administer Government contracts in a corporate setting to meet Government audit requirements
  • Experience being active and “hands-on” in all aspects of the procurement phase
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and interact with senior level management and clients
  • Interest in business process improvement and modernization of acquisition processes
  • Ability to manage large Federal Government proposals
  • Former Contracting Officer with 3+ years of federal contracting experience
  • Understanding of Government PPE procurement
  • Exceptional strategic planning, account management and contract negotiations skills required.
