We have an exciting career opportunity as an Industrial Engineer with a manufacturing company in the Syracuse area. In this position you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for their assembly operations, focused on optimizing product functionality, quality and cost efficiency. You will have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement initiatives to accomplish reduced cycle times and improve process reliability in their production and assembly operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Min 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Machinery environment
  • Strong Lean Manufacturing background, with hands on knowledge of manufacturing quality and process development and assembly equipment/machinery

Scope:

  • Analyze, Design, & Evaluate manufacturing processes while applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, welding, and materials.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors when necessary
  • Reviews, evaluates, and implements engineering changes and specification requirements for new product releases and sustaining engineering activities. Responsible for accurate production BOMs and routings.
  • Participate in and promote a continuous improvement culture focused on eliminating defects through robust root cause and corrective action activities. Lead innovations to current processes and strive for world class, industry leading manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Maintenance to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing process capabilities and finished- product; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing process effectiveness.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Establish Preventative Maintenance schedules and procedures and keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, requesting vendor services when necessary.
  • Assist in reducing cost through engineering and production cost reduction activities.
  • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Ensure processes are robust and that quality and efficiency is improving by maintaining and evaluating product and process databases.
